Day 1: Country of residence – Tashkent

Flight to Tashkent

Today marks the beginning of your journey to Uzbekistan. Upon arrival in Tashkent, you will be greeted by your guide and driver who will transport you to the hotel. After checking in, you’ll have the day off to relax and explore on your own.

Note: Meals are not included.

Day 2: Tashkent

Modernity and Antiquity

Breakfast at the hotel.

Morning:

  • Begin your city tour with a visit to the Hast Imom Religious Complex, dating back to the 16th century. Explore the Kaffal Ash Shashaiy Mausoleum and the Barakhan Madrasah, which currently houses an art workshop.
  • Visit the Tilla Sheikh Mosque and the “Medrese Muyi Mubarak,” where you can see the 7th-century Qur’an of Khalif Usman and many other ancient Qur’ans.
  • Conclude your visit to the complex at the Hazrat Imam Mosque.

Afternoon:

  • Head to Chorsu Bazaar, Tashkent’s largest market, known for its spices and fresh fruits, where you can enjoy the vibrant oriental atmosphere.
  • Visit the Kukeldash Madrasah located near the bazaar.
  • Explore the Practical Art Museum to experience Uzbek art, traditions, and customs.
  • Continue to Independence Square and Amir Temur Square.

Day 3: Tashkent – Khiva/Khva

Khiva Oasis City

Early Morning:

  • Transfer to the airport for your flight to Urganch. Upon arrival, continue your journey to Khiva (approximately 35 km).

Upon Arrival:

  • Check in at the hotel and leave your bags.
  • Start your city tour with a visit to the Kalta Minor Tower and Tanga Yard, then explore the Xone Kohna Ark of the Castle.
  • Discover the history of the last two centuries at the Khan Mukhammad Rakhimkhan II Medrese.
  • Continue to the Pahlawan Machmud Shrine, known for its "holy water," and learn about the fascinating stories behind this mausoleum.

Lunch:

  • Enjoy a traditional Uzbek meal in a garden setting, complete with green tea.

Afternoon:

  • Visit the Djuma Mosque, famous for its unique 213 columns.
  • Explore the Allakulkhan Palace, including the reception courtyard, palace, and harem.
  • For stunning views and great photography opportunities, visit the Islam Chodsha and Aksheik Baba Towers.

Day 4: Khiva – Bukhara

Kisil Kum Desert to Bukhara

Morning:

  • After breakfast, embark on a drive to Bukhara. Traverse the historic trade routes as you journey through the Kisil Kum Desert and cross the Amu Darya River.

  • Arrive in the oasis city of Bukhara.

Day 5: Bukhara

Culture and Islamic Heritage

Morning:

  • After a traditional breakfast at the hotel, begin your exploration of Bukhara’s historic old town.
  • Start with a visit to the Ismail Samani Mausoleum, a notable 9th-century structure and the resting place of the founder of the Samani dynasty.
  • Continue to the Chashma Ayub Mausoleum, renowned for its "holy water," located near the Eastern Bazaar.
  • Next, explore the 18th-century Bolo Haouz Mosque, also known as the 40-column mosque.

  • Visit the former Emir’s Palace, a significant historical site in Bukhara.

  • Visit the Bibikhanim Mosque, a grand structure from Timur’s reign, and the adjacent Bazaar.
  • Explore the Shahi Zinda Necropolis, including the 10th-century Mausoleum of Kussam ibn Abbas and other mausoleums from the Timur and Ulugbek eras.

  • Continue to the Ulugh Beg Observatory, renowned for being the first observatory built in the East.
